My work pays homage to women,
diverse cultures, and historical moments.
Mixed media is varied and multi-dimensional; oil and acrylic combine at times with orphan jewelry, fabric, and found objects. I cast light on women from Tehuantepec, Afghanistan, or Ethiopia, and honor them as queens.
The artifacts incorporated are gifts from family and friends who,
along with the models, all share in the creation and energy of the work.
My intention is
to send a message of hope.
